Grace Lindoerfer ,a 7th grader at Silverbrook Middle School spelled the winning word, extrasensory to win first place in the Silverbrook Middle School Spelling B. Twelve students participated and the top finishers are as follows:
1st Grace Lindoerfer – 7th
2nd Natalie Campbell – 8th
3rd Phoenix Kirby – 6th
Alternates: Brady Jones – 7th
Gabe Wray – 8th
The top three finalists will advance to the regional meet at Mayville Middle School on Feb. 9. |

The Canterbury Tales Close to 60 students from Badger and Silverbrook Middle Schools will present The Canterbury Tales on Monday, Feb. 8 and Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. in Badger's auditorium. There is no charge for admission. School Board Update

Eight candidates have declared candidacy to fill two at-large seats on the Board of Education for the West Bend School District. A primary will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 16 to narrow the candiates to four, who will advance to the April 6. 2010 election.
The candidates who receive the largest number of votes on April 6 will fill the two three-year terms currently held by Kathy Van Eerden and Lynn Corazzi. The following people have declared candidacy: Carl W. Knepel, Kathy Van Eerden, Lynn Corazzi, Bart Williams, Randy Marquardt, Doug Ziegler, Douglas Rakowski, David Weigand. Video Votes Help Haiti Glacier Hills Credit Union is sponsoring a video contest for our high school students. Students were to produce a video about the credit union. You can view and vote for your favorite finalist at: The credit union will also donate 25 cents per vote to the Haiti relief fund, up to $500, before Feb. 12.
