BALLOT QUESTION |
The question as it will appear on the ballot on April 2:
"Shall the West Bend Joint School District Number 1, Washington County, Wisconsin be authorized to issue pursuant to Chapter 67 of the Wisconsin Statutes, general obligation bonds in an amount not to exceed $47,000,000 for the public purpose of paying the cost of a school building and improvement program consisting of: construction of a new Jackson Elementary School; safety security, building infrastructure, technical education and engineering lab improvements, remodeling and capital improvements of the High School; and acquisition of related furnishings, fixtures and equipment."
Regarding referendum ballot questions, Wisconsin Statute 67.05(3)(d) reads as follows: "The question shall contain a statement of the purpose for which bonds are to be issued and the maximum amount of the bonds to be issued." Therefore, if the referendum is approved, the West Bend School District will use the borrowed funds to complete the projects listed in the ballot question as well as detailed in its referendum materials and this website.
