Every school district thinks their schools are great—at least they should. But what makes a school, and a school district, truly great?

At the West Bend Joint School District #1, we believe it’s establishing within all families the knowledge that their child—throughout their 13 or 14 years within this school district—will experience a learning environment that supports the development of the whole child.

  • We strive to meet the needs of our gifted learners, ensuring they will be challenged at an appropriate rate while experiencing a balanced approach to their physical, social, emotional, and intellectual well-being.
  • We strive to provide services for our students with special needs, in a manner which allows them to attend their neighborhood school and receive research-based effective specialized services from the highly-trained staff that allows them to thrive.

  • We strive to ensure that our typically developing students are not overlooked. Rather, they experience individualized learning from high-quality staff to reach their goals while thriving in every aspect of their life.

  • We strive to provide opportunities for all students to explore their interests and talents through a wide variety of academic programs, visual and performing arts, athletics, and co-curricular clubs.

The West Bend School District believes that succeeding in school means being happy at school. We foster a sense of belonging, empowerment, and safety in our schools. Dedicated administrators, teachers, support staff, and volunteers are focused on creating a positive, happy place to learn.

For this district, making our schools great is more than a mission or a vision—rather, it is an ironclad commitment. Learn more:
