Citing Resources
Both East and West Libraries have many books on similar topics to your website searches, check Destiny, our online catalog. Use the documents below to see how to cite sources using MLA format. When you research, you need to give credit for information you use, whether it’s a quotation, paraphrase, photo or graphic. Claiming information that you copy from a book, subscription database, or the Internet can be considered plagarism. Copyright protects everything, except ideas and lists (like telephone books). It is important to give credit when credit is due.
If you need more information, use the OWLS (Purdue's Online Writing Lab). Of course, you can always ask your teacher or the library media specialist for help.
Listed below are two online resources that can help you cite sources. Keep in mind that these website do not check spelling.
| Citation Machine | EasyBib | KnightCite |
